Forgive Us Our Trespasses

[FYI: This past weekend Fox news reported the arrest of Randall Terry as he protested against Notre Dame's invitation and honorary degree for Barack Obama. (See Notre Dame: Promoting the Glamour of Evil, and An Open Letter to Father Jenkins.) According to the report "Terry was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on criminal trespass charges." He has since been released after posting a bond. In light of this occurrence, I feel bound in conscience to make the following statement, commitment and call to all who labor in defense of the God given and unalienable right to life.]

With the arrest of pro-life servant Randall Terry, Father Jenkins and the University administration at Notre Dame take their adulation of evil to a new level of spiritual atrocity.

In a little less than two weeks they will welcome to the university campus a man who represents the most abominable and extreme commitment ever known in US politics to destroying the God given right to life of innocent human offspring. With their actions and the "honor" they confer upon Obama, they will actively promote the lie that it is possible to dishonor God blatantly and unashamedly, yet be somehow "honorable" in the eyes of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.

Christ said

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:31-40)

These words must ring in the ears of faithful Christians as they consider the grim reality of abortion. Every time abortionists rip a child limb from limb within the womb; every time they crush an infant's fragile head; every time they have scorched the life from its body with a death dealing chemical solution; every time they scrape its nascent cells of life from the walls of a womb- Jesus is savagely beaten again; his skull pressed down with thorns; his limbs pulled recklessly in their sockets; his hands and feet pierced through with nails; his breaths infused with fiery pain; his life finally extinguished; every time.

And every time there stands vociferous in the taunting crowd, the ambitious man of blood, Barack Obama. He is crying aloud, "Let Him be crucified." He is justifying the torture, forcing bystanders to aid in the atrocity, assuring that the nails are paid for and the henchmen of evil well fed and rewarded for their role in the daily crucifixion. Even the garments of the innocent children (their little organs or their stem cells), like the vesture of Christ, he prepares for division among those who perpetrate the slaughter.

All his life Randall Terry, seeing this passion play of evil repeated over and over again in our day, has born witness bravely and shamelessly against it. On the day of crucifixion, Christ endures the punishment reserved for infamous rebels and criminals. Fearing that they too would be treated as criminals, Peter and most of the other disciples run and hide. So too do many of us today. Though we profess to believe that abortion breaks God's fundamental law, we will not stand boldly with Jesus as he endures humiliating injustice. We fear for ourselves and shrink from association with the bloody and terrible images of torture and death. But through the years Randall Terry, and those who share his lion's heart for justice, have stood with the Mother of our Lord at the foot of the Cross. They have been sprinkled with the blood and water that gushed from his wounded side. They have received from the pierced and bleeding hand of the Lord the Blessed Gift by which he made his Mother Our Lady (Notre Dame), the mother of all the faithful ones who endure with Him to the end, receiving His crown of pain, which is also the crown of life.

Instead of cringing inwardly at Randall Terry's bold willingness to be arrested for bearing witness to God's truth, those who understand the gift of Christ's words and example must be moved to imitate his boldness. Tragically, ironically, a supposedly Catholic university and its administration have stepped forward to be the Bull Connors of this era's most clear and pressing battle for God given human rights. They have declared it an offense peacefully to demonstrate the evil of abortion. They have declared it an offense, prayerfully to bear witness to truth on a campus supposedly guided by and subordinate to that truth. Though it is an offense to them, it is a duty to Truth, and to Christ and to God. Wherever there are faithful hearts drawn to do this duty, they must feel now the vocation to join Randall Terry in defiance of this intimidation. I will join him. I ask others who all these years have prayed and labored for the unborn to join us. I know you are there. I have broken bread with you at dinners for crisis pregnancy centers and right to life groups. I have marched with you to proclaim the sanctity of innocent life, and decry the laws that sanction its destruction. I have been uplifted by your faith, your perseverance, your love of God and His son. The forces of evil mean to lay final claim to a place supposed to be within the precincts of our God and Lord. Come what may, we must come forth now to occupy and hold it against them.

I will go to South Bend. I will step foot on the Notre Dame campus to lift up the standard that protects the life of the innocent children of this and every generation. I will do it all day and every day until, if it be God's will, shame and the love of Christ overcome the university administration's vain craving for iniquitous "honor". I will do it though it means I shall be housed every day in the prison house of lies and injustice that Obama, Jenkins and their minions now mean to construct for those who will never be still and silent in the face of their mockery of God and justice, their celebration of evil.

If this be trespass, then forgive us our trespasses and join us in trespassing until the South Bend jail is filled to overflowing with witnesses to truth; filled beyond capacity; filled until we break the most onerous shackles of all- the ones that bind the heart and mind to evil and our nation to the path of its moral and spiritual destruction.

Thank you for this call, which we all should heed. It is unfathomable that a Catholic institution should pander to this Obama in such a way by rewarding him the dignity of speaking at their graduation, and of course, the honorary degree. It is a hope that the commitment to telling the truth in our daily, mortal lives here in America, may bring us a real President next time, with an open commitment to the messages of God.

Thank you, Dr. Keyes.

Many pro-lifers like to pile on Randall for his baggage
and so called proclivity for theatrics!

I'm moved by his boldness and action, where so many hide
behind their computers.

He singularly drew the hundreds, if not thousands to Terri's
defense, IMO.

God bless you Dr. Keyes, for saying what needs to be said but more so, for embarking on actions that need to be taken and encouraging others to do so as well. I stand strong for my Lord and Savior and will continue to do so in whatever means I am directed to and pray others will feel the call in their hearts.

You are an inspiration and a true warrior, Dr. Keyes.

Dr. Keyes,

I would like to offer you a line of thought which I had never heard until recently when my wife, a friend, and I were discussing the meaning of this evil.

Satan knows there is a certain number of souls to be born before Christ returns. What do people that lack great dignity and who fear death have in common with Satan? They do all they can to slow the coming of their judgment. That is the purpose of abortion. His servants scurry about trying to buy time, celebrating each death of the unborn, looking born of woman.

This is the same reason Satan and his minions hiss at large families. Especially those whose quiver is full of arrows for The Lord.

Correcting the end of the middle paragraph. "looking for souls born of woman."

I would just like to point out that Notre Dame is still a school, and we are in the midst of finals week. Having someone flying a plane overhead for the majority of the day bearing a banner of an aborted fetus, and coming on campus to mount protests while most of us are stressed beyond belief right now does nothing but anger, upset, and frustrate people.

I am strongly pro-life, and find myself frustrated beyond belief as people continually tell me that I should be ashamed of my school, that Notre Dame has lost its Catholic identity, that there are no values here anymore. I witness more people standing up for their faith every day than I ever had in my life on this campus.

I still stand behind this University and the reasons I came here have not changed. The majority of people I interact with every day fight tirelessly to defend life, to keep the Catholic identity here alive. Just because we aren't the vocal majority, it does not mean we are not here. Please don't make generalizations about the community as a whole here, and please do not punish everyone for the actions of a few.

While I admired Randall Terry, and also picketed abortion clinics, including a couple of times with Operation Rescue, I can no longer admire him for several reasons, including personal ones. To say more is simply to gossip.

I do, however, agree with Alan Keyes on the rest of this post, and feel very strongly that Obama should not have been invited to speak (debate with a strong pro-life person like Fr Pavone? yes), and should not be honored with an honorary Law Degree at a Catholic University, College, or even High School.

I am...discomfited.

I know where this path leads, and though I cannot see any alternative, I had wished that others might. It seems the die is cast, though. Bunyon mentioned those who would forestall what must be. I have no shame, but I must acknowledge that the admission that I am sometimes among them (if only by omission) does me no credit. Though I plead indolence as the reason for my inaction, the truth is that I do not desire what is coming.

jetsfan, Notre Dame is not still a school. It is a whited sepulcher, and you might do better to find a way out than to shelter there any longer. Then again, I do not promise that escape is possible. Certainly there is no remaining middle ground, those who seek it will find only a no man's land.

Make no mistake, the issue has indeed swung to open war. Your enemy understands this and prepares accordingly. I can assure you that their aims are vain, but do not think that their assault will not cost you dearly. Prepare for the worst, if you can.

It is surely coming.

Ambassador,
Out of curiosity, have you ever stood up to defend people's freedom of conscience that is different from yours? I mean a specific case, not just in general

Alan Keyes said...

Silent Consensus:
Define "freedom of conscience."

pbunyon said...

I sure wish TSC would just go ahead and give everyone all the answers. Toying around with defending the conscience of those who are polar opposites on subjects of such importance is an attempt at muddying water at best and pure insanity at worst. There is no law against having the conscience of a fool. However, why would anyone stand up to defend it? To little old me, TSC's question in itself appears as evidently bipolar. Am I being too cut an dried?

The Silent Consensus said...

Ambassador,
I define freedom of conscience as the ability to hold a viewpoint without any coercion or aggression interfering.

To go even further, let's say the ability to act on your viewpoints without any coercion or aggression interfering. To further clarify, murder and all other crimes against others would not be protected because by nature the perpetrator is are imposing his/her conscience on the other with coercion and aggression

The Silent Consensus said...

pbunyon,
Why stand up to defend it? Every infringement on freedom and human rights begins with suppressing the given freedom or rights's least appealing practitioners.

I have no love for Noam Chomsky, but he was dead right when he said that to only believe in freedom of speech for those you like or agree with is to not believe in freedom of speech at all. Fighting for free speech when you agree with the practitioners of it means nothing. Such is easy.

Fighting for free speech when you find the practitioners wrong, disgusting, and abhorrent demonstrates your loyalty to the principle of free speech. Refusal to do so demonstrates support for statism, not freedom. I've withstood this test many times. One example, when a Lutheran school in California expelled two lesbians for being lesbian, I was disgusted, but I argued that freedom of religion is a two way street and I don't have a right to impose my religion on them anymore than they have a right to impose theirs on me

chiu_chunling said...

I have stood up (and stomped, shouted, and so forth) for the right of others to express stupid opinions without coercion. Often I've done it while arguing with the person who's rights I was defending. But it doesn't represent any kind of philosophical commitment on my part, I just hate dishonesty. If somebody is going to say something for some other reason than a belief that it's true, I don't want to hear it, whether or not it's supposed to represent agreement with what I say.

SC might notice that his every post on this site is only there because of Dr. Keyes' active, out of pocket defense of SC's right to hold opinions which are not merely opposed, but inane. But I suppose by now we should all know better than to expect SC to make any sense.

I don't happen to believe in freedom of speech. I think that it's invaluable for a government to have access to unbiased corrective feedback short of rebellion in the streets (or invasion or economic collapse), which is a good enough reason to forbid restrictions on political speech. But freedom of speech mainly serves the interests of government by giving it easy access to information about how the people really feel. It doesn't actually do the people that much good.

Freedom of conscience is the freedom to act on moral convictions, not merely to express or hold such convictions. As such, it only applies to conscionable beliefs. There isn't any way around this fundamental difficulty, every society must set standards for which moral compunctions will be allowed and which denied. Even if we want to talk about sincerity, there are real belief systems which encourage rape, slavery, and murder. While many who promote such beliefs may be doing so for calculated reasons, that doesn't mean there are no sincere believers.

So does cutting off your wife's head because she doesn't like being beaten as a prelude to sex count as a conscionable decision or not? I don't think so, but that is a "basic right of religious freedom" according to some.

As a practical matter, someone who holds beliefs which create an irreconcilable conflict with society at large will become a criminal. Thus it is in the interest of society to be judicious about excluding beliefs as unconscionable, because those who sincerely believe them won't give them up so easily. And that state which makes enemies of too large a segment of the population will not endure. Oppression, as it turns out, has indirect economic and social costs that make the considerable direct costs seem insignificant by comparison.

"First they came for the pedophiles, and I said 'Good' because...do I even need to explain? Then they came for the Moloch worshipers and I said 'fine by me' because those people deserve a Darwin award anyway. Then they came for the Satanists and I laughed, because Satan always was such a ****tard. By and by they got around to coming for me, and I was really glad that I didn't have to risk the indignity of those other morons speaking up for me."

I wish.

But Dr. Keyes' point of view is pretty clear. One viewpoint is honored despite being unconscionable, the opposing view is criminalized. How is that freedom of conscience? How does protesting such imbalance bring Dr. Keyes' commitment to liberty under question? Because he happens to agree with the point of view being disparaged? Or because SC happens to disagree with it?

Dr. Keyes posted with conscience, conviction, purpose, and direction. The river that flows from Dr. Keyes spring of those attributes is clear. Unfortunately down stream, there is that muddy water I was talking about. TSC has stirred nonsense into the flow of reason. It simply looks like TSC wants to get his or other's conscience off subject.
There is a long inexplicably crooked road through the forest here. The turns are sudden and dangerous and the road has many sudden elevation changes that "get your stomach". The road is called the rabbit trail by locals. Just like TSC's aberrant thought processes that are evident to me.

cora,

I will phrase this as gently as I can. But understand that, in trying to explain this concept, one of the most kindly men I have ever observed resorted to telling a story about a woman who buried three of her children using a serving ladle to dig their graves in the frozen ground, and dug the grave for her remaining infant with her fingers because she had lost the ladle.

jetfan has no concept of how hard things are going to get very soon, and I fear that you may not understand either. America is about to enter a darkness which almost none of you can comprehend. Faith in God will be the only light which can sustain you then. Remember that in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins, all of them were waiting for the bridegroom, but half were still unprepared.

Is it unloving to warn the people of the danger they now face? Dr. Keyes still holds out hope that America can endure, but only if everyone who has an understanding of God's laws acts now in common purpose. Should he relent from calling you to save yourselves because it will be difficult? Is that what love means, to refrain from warning those who are in mortal danger lest they take alarm?

I do not share Dr. Keyes' optimism. Nor am I free to take an active role in trying to save you. But I urge you to save yourselves, take extra oil with you now. Do not wait for darkness to fall. Do not idle in vain hope that you can evade destruction through diffidence.

I do not promise safety in courageous action. But nothing else will serve your need, which is more dire than you understand.

I have that faith. But love towards one another is the first commandment of Jesus. And support for the brethren. We dont lead with a stick, like our Master we lead with love. I have a problem with the current conservative movement. We are acting like the other side. The left has gone so far left and the right is going so far right. We are calling each other names instead of leading with love. The current conservative radio talk show hosts for example have declined to name calling. That isn't what we are about. If truth cannot be spoken with love then it will never be heard. It is what separates us from the other side. That faith in God is emboldened with prayer and love. Jesus didn't love by holding the bigger stick. He loved by example by thought word and deed, submission to the cross. When He returns He will take care of business. jetfan has said that they stand up. Give them love give them tools they need.

"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." I John 4:4. Blessings to you as you stand for righteousness. May the justness and righteousness of your cause shine forth like the noonday sun! (Psalm 37:6)

cora,

Jesus said, "No man can serve two masters....Ye cannot serve God and Mammon." This is the essence of what Dr. Keyes told jetsfan. Is it so unkind, in your mind, to speak the truth?

It is unfortunate that men will not heed their sins unless those sins are named. The vile concupiscence into which America has descended cannot be discussed without offending the ears of those who wish such evil were not. But do you really call upon the faithful to tolerate the tide of sin which is bringing your country down to destruction? It must be fought. No unclean thing can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. All we like sheep have gone astray, and God laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

If you would have faith in Christ, believe His words.

There are many who will not be saved. I know that is a hard thing to accept. I wrestled with God for many years over the question of the tempter's domination of the Earth. Why is the adversary of our souls given so much power and wealth? It is because men, being free, have chosen to give it to him. Few do so knowingly, for Satan was a liar from the beginning. But, in this world, everything that is not devoted to God will fall into Lucifer's hands.

Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. That we may serve the Lord is because of His great mercy to us. That we must choose to do so is because of His eternal justice. We are utterly unworthy to serve Him, yet He will accept whatever we are able to give.

But only if we choose to give it to Him.

cora said...

God's will for us

"Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints...."

Ephesians 6:10-18

We are told to stand for truth and against sin, but I still say we are not to verbally attack others. We are to come to and support our brethren. And yes I know this is the Devils playground. The Battle belongs to the LORD.

Jetsfan,
I will attempt to try to explain this as clearly as I can. No point about Notre Dame is valid due to the fact that they invited Obama, the most dangerous and pro death President this country has sadly ever had. Notre Dame is considered to be a Catholic university and as such, the sanctity of life must be upheld. Abortion is torturous murder of the most evil variety, and the fact the the University's leadership has compromised this principle and invited the abomination who holds the office of Presidency to peak is very telling indeed.

Mr Keyes,
Thank you so much for the work that you do and for speaking what is good, true and right despite the culture of evil and perversion that now permeates our once great country. I just discovered this site this morning as I was reading the WND article on savage being banned from England and I look forward to adding it to my daily visit websites list. God bless you and keep you and continue to inspire you as a force for good in these very dark times we live in. Barack Hussein Obama is the ONLY truly dangerous person to ever become President. By agreeing to speak at Notre Dame, his arrogance reaches new heights. While Notre Dame should be ashamed of itself, Obama, by accepting, is damaging himself even more. The whole scenario shows how far we have fallen from what the founders planned. In the long run it will probably help to get rid of him.

The imagery which always compared the word of God to a sword once seemed very strange to me. Less so now that I have observed how it afflicts most of the wicked to hear scripture. But even so, does quoting the scriptures really count as a verbal attack?

If it be so, then so be it.

I think that sound doctrine is easier to endure than many other trials which the Lord has seen fit to prepare for this generation. How will we have the preparation of the gospel if we will not hear it? Whence the faith to shield ourselves, or confidence in salvation? The word of God may well be as a sword to the servants of sin, but if the church also deem them offensive, I know not what may be done.

I once demanded to know why God made it so hard for humanity to obey His commandments. But on reviewing the question I've realized that it was never God who decided to make things so difficult. This latest controversy is no different. It was not God who decided to make His commands contradict Notre Dame's policy, but the human administrators of Notre Dame who have set their policy in defiance of God's commandments.

I wish that men were able to make better decisions without constantly appealing to scripture...but it seems that when men decide not to rely on God's word they already demonstrate a paucity of judgment. As much as that irritates me, it is truth, and thus I'm forced to admit it. Which just makes it more annoying.

Well, as a recent graduate of college, though much older and wiser than the typical recent grad, I have to say that our schools are absolutely taken over by these kinds of communists professors. They actually champion the communist causes. Everything from helping Barrack Hussein O'communist elected in part by verbally insisting that we vote for BHO, to literally praising the newly elected Jacob Zuma a life long SACP (South Africa Communist Party)member as achieving his life long goal.

I believe the ebb of the conservative and especially Christian principles in American politics is going to cost us much more. The constant barrage of horrible news, due directly to the groundswell of the leftist agenda, should wake us all. This Notre Dame incident is just one of many examples. I certainly hope Dr. Keyes is able to take a much larger roll in the politics of America than ever before. We have to help him do that.

One if the most significant books of recent times is William Wright's "Born That Way." There is a natural experiment which demonstrates beyond reasonabe doubt that the way we perceive the world is to a very large extent predetermined in our genetic makeup. That experiment is what we have learned from identical twins which were separated as infants to be reared in often drastically different environments and then subsequently reunited as adults to study the extent to which those environments had influenced their views of the world.

"Bouchard would later insist that while he and his colleagues had fully expected to find traits with a high degree of heritability, they also exected to find traits that had no genetic component. He was certain, he says. that they would find some traits that proved to be purely environmental. They were astonished when they did not. While the degree of heritability varied widely - from the low thirties to the high seventies - EVERY TRAIT THEY MEASURED showed at least some degree of genetic influence, Many showed a lot."
page 40, Caps originally in italics.

The scariest part of these studies is the realization that it may be impossible to reason with extreme ideologues like Barack Hussein Obama, that they are victims of a genetic deficiency disease which renders them immune to the Judeo Christian ethic, the ethic that made Western Civilaztion possible. Anyone who is aware of the nature of internet weblogs realizes that genetically predisposed souls spontaneously aggregate with others of the same mindset. Apparently this is true of every aspect of our social structure. At least we now have a solid foundation for why this is true. We are, as Wright's title proclaims, born that way.

Jesus was aware of this as his final words suggest -

"Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

The forgiving is the hard part.

If I claimed to be a Jew but every time I went out to lunch with you I ordered filet mignon wrapped in bacon, smothered in a heavy cream sauce with a lobster tail, you'd be insane not to infer from my actions that I was not a devout Jew.

If I claimed to be a Muslim but I had never heard of hajj, drank profusely and thought Mecca was in California, you'd have to question my true devotion.

The same is true for those who claim to be Catholic -- their true loyalties are betrayed by their actions. Fr. Jenkins and his ilk would rather be political movers and shakers than devout Catholics. They have chucked their religion and all common sense and pretend it is in the spirit of engagement that they are conferring an honorary degree upon someone who is so blatantly outside the moral character of the Church. Then Fr. Jenkins acts outraged that we point out that he is clearly in violation of both Vatican and USCCB guidelines. He claims that we must engage in dialogue with those we disagree with only to refuse dialogue with those who disagree with his decision (he actually refuses to talk to the student groups who protest because he says there is no common ground).

Sorry, jetsfanforlife, but ND has been a bad joke for decades now. There is nothing in its character that would make casual or careful observers think it was Catholic. You may protest that they have "Touchdown Jesus" (a term I find rather offensive since it really is a violation of the second commandment), priests and religion classes, etc. So does USC, UNC, the Air Force Academy, UK, KU and nearly every other secular university in the country. The test that Notre Dame is clearly failing is Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the Vatican document that specifies what defines a Catholic university. I'm sure that being a Notre Dame student you've been given a copy of it and had some classes on its significance.

jnewl said...

"(he [Jenkins] actually refuses to talk to the student groups who protest because he says there is no common ground)"

Interesting, isn't it, that Jenkins finds no common ground between himself--supposedly a Catholic and a proponent of the Catholic Faith--and Catholic students in his school, while he does find common ground with Obama and other enemies of the Faith. Presumably, his reasoning is that the Catholic students are intolerant and close-minded, while Obama et al are the opposite, practicing democratic habits enshrined in our Constitution. In other words, his "common ground" is "freedom of speech," "freedom of conscience," and toleration of dissenting views.

If this is right, then clearly, in the order of the sciences, he ranks the lower science of Politics above that which is in reality the highest science of all: Theology and Divine Revelation. This is enough in itself to put the lie to his claim of upholding Catholic teaching and the Catholic Faith.

I am so sorry for all those arrested. You did nothing to deserve that!

It is not Catholic to arrest Catholics for praying the rosary peacefully on Catholic property that they helped to build or it wouldn't have even been there in the first place.

For this priest to order their arrest is an act against God.

I don't know how true this is, but as a result of these arrests, people are writing the Archbishop and refusing to give donations to the Church until Notre Dame is stripped of the Catholic name. I just read it all over YouTube and a few websites. A friend of mine got an e-mail urging empty envelopes be sent with the words "The Catholic Church is ignoring the Notre Dame protest and therefore, true Catholics are now ignoring an untrue Church until it acts in accordance with Christ." They are saying that condemning Obama's visit is not enough and that the arrests have spoken which side Fr. Jenkins has taken, Obama's.

This is not going to go over well it seems.

Fr. Jenkins has started a war within his own Church and I know it won't be him that's going to win this one. He's in deep now. He arrested his own for praying.. for PRAYING!!!... and called them "trepassers".

I hope you know how to do something else for a living, Fr. Jenkins, because that title isn't long for this world when the Church starts losing money on account of you.

My dad has said for decades that Notre Dame was not a Catholic University. He said they sold out their religion a long time ago for federal funds. They use the name Catholic in name only.

And now this, proving dad was right again.

Only good can come from this because it now exposes what the older generation knew all along. Maybe it's God's way of cleaning house once and for all. We have way too many Catholics who really aren't Catholic in the Church. God is probably fed up with it and who could blame Him? This isn't happening for no reason and the scandal is on those who endorse the arrests and welcome Obama with open arms, while covering up the sight of Jesus. What a disgrace that was!

I also understand that many will attend on the 17th and turn their backs to Obama when he shows up, as it should be. Obama is picking Catholic shools on purpose and people need to notice why that is and stop covering up for him.

I remember going to hear a man speak at a Pentecostal church back in the '80s. He stated that it was a known goal of the Islamic movement in America to target churches by initially covertly sending their young men into seminary and eventually high places in the "church". I started paying attention then and have seen many times men, especially in black churches, that impressed me as those very individuals sent by their progenitors. It should not be a surprise that this could happen to the Catholics as well. I am certain there is more on this that can be found but that was the one time, until now, I heard anything like this since then.

Mr. Keyes,

Considering who you are sir, and your past, I would dare to say that you are no where near the idea of being stupid in your actions, thoughts and speech. On the contrary. However sir with all due respect, you must consider a fact that I have yet to see in these pages of yours. There is available information on the abomination calling himself President, and I see you hinting here and there. Although I do understand why you cannot say outright who and what Obama is, and what he represents for this great Nation of ours, and to the rest of the world. But sir, if you're not familiar with this information, I will indeed share with you the facts as I have them along with the theories provided by God's Word, and a very long and complicated algorithmic equation, that shows various probabilities, and is directly responsible for some information that is currently running it's course around the globe.

I read up on you before I wrote this, as I don't like posting blindly to someone I do not know, especially a Politician. In your case however It has been brought to my attention via a common source between you and I that the quest you're on now is one that is not only necessary, but is highly important in the grand scheme of our current situation in our beloved homeland, and what is going on abroad.

If you're interested in this information, let me know. I will happily send you what I have, but my only request is that if you do contact me, I will ask you to please provide some kind of proof as to who you are when you do. No need to share what I know with anyone else, or anyone claiming to be you. You can contact me on MySpace directly, www.myspace.com/aerylonbklackwolf

Or you can email me at aerylonbklackwolf@gmail.com

To successfully preserve the liberty and integrity of the nation would be to disprove any such speculation. And the converse is also true, as many Americans are beginning to realize.

It is of no practical concern, thus, to say what Obama might be revealed as should the current trend of politics and government not be reversed. The hope Dr. Keyes expresses--for a return to Constitutionally protected liberty and the moral reawakening of the American people necessary to such a government--is based on the slender chance that Obama's rise to power does not, in fact, presage the final act of history.

Is this battle to restore America indeed a forlorn hope? I believe it may well prove to be so. But even so, the key term here is "hope". Even if victory seems difficult or improbable, the valiance to contest the outcome depends on the hope you bring to bear. If I could regret, I would regret that I have lost this hope myself. But as long as there remain any with the courage to embrace it, I will take comfort from their faith in American and it's future.

Those who do their duty to God and their country have my admiration, and I would not discourage them. To flee from this battle would be shameful, and cannot save anyone from what must come should this last hope be lost. The faith you need to endure what must come should the enemy prevail is forged from the courage you show now.

Whether or not Obama is indeed what some may fear him to be, Christ hath not given you the spirit of fear, but of love. Then let your love--for your country and your fellow man--cast out fear. Such love God must approve, as it is written in His word.

Silent Consensus -
It should be clear by now that the stand Dr. Keyes and others are taking now have nothing at all to do with preventing the free speech or freedom of conscience of anyone. Neither freedom of speech nor freedom of conscience require a platform and honorary degree from a Catholic university.

As a Christian, as a Catholic, as a concerned citizen, Dr. Keyes (and others) are opposed to this action, not the freedom that tolerates it.

In doing so, he is showing support for the right for others to live.

And in that right to live, these little ones also, under the same conditions as everyone else, must have equal protection of the law, including those laws that protect freedom of speech and conscience.

So why does Dr. Keyes oppose a faith-based school bestowing an honorary degree on someone who holds not just a position that favors robbing innocent human beings of their life and liberty, but also the power to implement it?

By now, the answer to that question is self-evident, but even if Dr. Keyes didn't already explain it in the article above and numerous interviews he's given, it's irrelevant to your point, because it's clear that he does favor restricting the freedoms of others. In fact, quite the opposite is true.

Rather, he is calling on them to either act appropriately with a just, good conscience consistent with their professed Catholic faith or show the extent to which they will promote evil and punish those who oppose it.

Dear Dr. Keyes,

It is with great appreciation that I write you this letter today. An appreciation for your continued strength, faithfulness and activism in a selfish, ungodly, and immoral society. I did not think it possible to have a “Hero” from the current time period, but you have proved that notion wrong. You have such an extraordinary gift of conviction, passion and wisdom that comes from the Almighty, and nothing pleases me more than to observe you using those gifts for His glory.

I thank God for you Dr. Keyes. I thank Him for giving you the courageous spirit that endures persecution and delights in suffering. I thank Him for your humbleness that continues to grow as He leads you into the depths of His Divine purpose. I thank Him who continues to pour out His spirit into your soul and rattles your being with a fervent desire that is only satisfied when you act on the call of His will.

You are an inspiration to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing firm and never bowing down to the pressures of society. I can only imagine what our Heavenly Father will say to you when you arrive at the gates of Heaven, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” In that moment, you will know in your heart that it was ALL worth it, every trial and tribulation.

May Jehovah Nissi guide your every step toward Victory,

Ashley B. Hughes

I wish someone would ask Obama this question. If it is immoral to torture terrorists, how is it moral to torture unborn babies? Of course it's OK for the left to use moral equivalency, but don't let the right do it. I hope and pray that Alan Keyes is successful in his endeavor to make Notre Dame University realize that Obama's pro-abortion stance is an affront to Catholics and God!

Dr. Keyes,

The incident of Obama insisting the religious icons be covered up at Georgetown when he spoke there, and the possibility that he may make the same sort of demands at Notre Dame, is reminiscent of the scene in the film, "The Omen" when the anti-Christ child reacted violently, scratching and clawing, when he saw that he was being driven to a church.

Obama fears God. Not the way we do, but rather the way in which Satan fears Him.

I stop at describing Obama as the anti-Christ, because he isn't smart enough, but he is certainly an anti-Christ.

Thank you for this post. Obama is an evil Socialist who has the most radical view on abortion. He even joked about aborting his own daughters. He MUST be stopped! Obama claims to be a Christian, but would our LORD really save his corrupt soul from eternal suffering? I don't know. I'm going to organize a Pro-Life rally in my NJ town and I would be honored if you would come Mr. Keyes. May God bless you all.

Dear Dr Keyes,

Obama used to teach Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals' that taught this idea:

IF YOU HOLD A CHRISTIAN TO THEIR OWN CHRISTIAN STANDARDS AND BELIEFS, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO
ADHERE TO THOSE PRINCIPALS.

Bingo. Obama knows the Alinsky playbook better than any other person on earth, and he is using those rules for radicals BY SPEAKING AT NOTRE DAME, AND SADLY THE RADICAL RULE WORKED, because we all see how fast Notre Dame justified away those principals of the very Creator they supposedly worship. Justified away.....and gone.

Notre Dame has happily given up all the rules of
the very Creator, in exchange for having the President speak at commencement. They have used all the justifications they can possibly think of, and here they are with their BACKS TO CHRIST
AND THEIR EYES, EARS AND HEARTS TOWARD OBAMA, A
man who not only promotes abortion, but who also
promotes the murder of babies WHO ARE BORN ALIVE
AND WHO ARE VIABLE OUTSIDE OF THE WOMB. Now born,
these babies are AMERICAN CITIZENS who are denied
even the right to basic medical care so that a selfish woman can be delivered to her the dead baby she requested. These women who have waited
until they are EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT TO DECIDE TO HAVE AN ABORTION? What exactly had they been doing the other 7 months while the baby is now
growing to play, tumble and polk at mommy from inside the womb?
Stop sanitizing it: you are either pro life or else you are pro abortion, NOT PRO CHOICE. We all saw what Sarah Palin got from the Obama crowd when HER CHOICE was to keep her baby. The only 'pro choice' acceptable to the left, is the
choice of having an abortion. Make no mistake about it: it is pro ABORTION, PRO BABY EXTERMINATION, PRO BABY MURDER EVEN OUTSIDE OF THE WOMB.
I am tired of people sanitizing abortion to make
it more acceptable. Notre Dame cares more about
its own popularity than it does the Word of God, obviously.
ANYBODY ELSE SEE NOTRE DAME BEING LUKEWARM AS
PERFECTLY DESCRIBED IN REV.1-2 ?????
They will be spewed out of the very mouth of
Christ. You can take that to the heavenly bank.

NOW THE TRUTH IS CLEAR:

OBAMA KNOWS THAT EVEN THE BIGGEST RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS CAN BE BOUGHT WITH FLATTERIES; THEY
WILL FORGET THEIR GODLY MANDATES, THEY WILL PUT
AWAY THEIR PRINICPALS AND THEY WILL TURN THEIR BACKS ON GOD HIMSELF IF THEY ARE FLATTERED IN JUST THE RIGHT WAY.

Notre Dame knows not what they have done: they
have sent a strong message to Obama that he is able to step in and usurp even the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Obama has now stepped in front
of God Himself and the people? Well, sadly, they
CHEERED HIM AS HE DID IT.

Dr Keyes,

Right now, more than at any other time of my life, I can see clearly all the warnings of the Prophets of Olde: they told us of this time when
the Great Apostasy would come: Apostasy is the 'falling away of one's belief', and we are seeing this apostasy in real-time as we witness
Notre Dame replacing Jesus Christ with the obama
messiah, and in other places when we see whole
congregations breaking off so as to be able to
sin without the uncomfortableness of the Doctrine
of God telling them they are wrong. Know this:
right after the great apostasy comes the first
appearance of the antichrist who will be disguised and pretending to be the true Christ.
This fake jesus, actually satan, will convince all to be accepting of practices that are against the very Doctrine of Gods Word, but most
people today aren't even sure what is actually written and what is not. The stage is set, and
this flesh age is about to end. I wonder which side each person will be put? Sheep or goats?
God have mercy on us. It would serve those at Notre Dame well to open up Gods Word and begin to read it with understanding, because it will mean either life or dead for them; as it stands,
things are not looking well for many of them.
ANYTHING YOU PLACE BEFORE GOD IS AN IDOL; it seems we have a whole lot of idol worship going
on in this generation. fOLKS HAD BETTER GET THEIR HOUSES IN ORDER.
